When I bought my first reflector, quite a few years ago now, I just didn’t get it.

I purchased it because it was frequently recommended by other photographers and because it was relatively cheap, but while I understood what it could do on a basic level, I struggled to appreciate how a reflector could be incorporated into my images.

Fast forward a few years, and my view has done a complete one-eighty.

I love my reflector and confidently recommend it to other photographers.

How to use a reflector in bright sunlight

While a reflector is one of the simplest photography accessories you can buy, a basic, $40 reflector can make an insane difference to your portraits (and product photos, still life images, food shots, etc). As a seasoned portrait photographer, I never leave home without a reflector, and neither should you.
